Associate Professor Jeremy Goldin
Sleep Physician, Royal Melbourne Hospital
Associate Professor Jeremy Goldin is an Australian sleep physician and former co-founder and director of the Royal Melbourne Hospital Sleep Service for 15 years. A past president of the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand (Victorian Branch), he has also served on the Australasian Sleep Association clinical committee. He is widely published across respiratory and non-respiratory sleep disorders and supervises registrars and junior doctors. Dr Goldin continues clinical work at Royal Melbourne Hospital and BreatheWest, contributes to NATA accreditation as an adviser and technical assessor, and consults for industry, including as medical advisor for the Compumedics Somfit monitor program.
Dr Anna Englin
Paediatric Anaesthetist
Dr Anna Englin is a specialist paediatric anaesthetist with over 20 years’ experience working with children and families. She holds additional qualifications in counselling and medical hypnotherapy, supporting emotional regulation, resilience, and performance. Her clinical work includes anxiety, phobias, medical procedure preparation, and evidence-based mind–body approaches. She is active in teaching, education, and research, with a focus on communication and applied mind–body techniques for healthcare professionals. Dr Englin graduated with honours from Monash University, trained at The Alfred Hospital, completed fellowship at The Royal Children’s Hospital, and previously worked as a staff specialist at Monash Health.


Dr Geza Benke
Senior Research Fellow, Monash University
Dr Geza Benke is a senior research Fellow in the School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine at Monash University, Victoria. With qualifications in physics, environmental engineering, and epidemiology, he researches occupational and environmental exposures, particularly cancer and respiratory disease. He is an investigator with the Australian Mesothelioma Registry and continues follow-up on three occupational cohort studies. Dr Geza is a Certified Occupational Hygienist, Fellow and former president of the Australian Institute of Occupational Hygienists, a long-standing member of the Australian Acoustical Society, and author of more than 200 peer-reviewed publications and reports.
Dr Bruce Hocking
Consultant, Bruce Hocking and Associates
Dr Bruce Hocking is a consultant in occupational medicine and a past president of AFOEM. He has drafted numerous medical standards for safety-critical workers.


Dr Armand Casolin
President, AFOEM
Armand joined RailCorp in 2005 as Chief Health Officer and now holds the same role at Transport for NSW, with over 30 years’ experience in occupational medicine. His work includes establishing a national training program for rail health assessors, contributing to national standards, and helping form the rail
Chief Medical Officer Council. He has held leadership roles with the Australasian Medical Review Officer’s Association and AFOEM and served on Transport for NSW’s COVID taskforce. Armand has published widely, is President of the International Union of Railway Medical Services and currently serves as President of AFOEM.
Dr Joe Slesenger
AFOEM Training Program Director
Dr Joe Slesenger is an occupational physician and the current AFOEM Director of Training in Victoria and Tasmania. He is a past member of the Faculty Assessment Committee and is a current examiner.


Dr Amanda Sillcock
Senior Lecturer, Monash University
Dr Amanda Sillcock is a senior occupational physician. She teaches undergraduate medical students and students enrolled in the Graduate Diploma and Master of Occupational and Environmental Health programs at Monash University. She is a past president of ANZSOM and has participated in a range of AFOEM and ANZSOM activities over the years. She currently serves on the Historyof Occupational Medicine Committee.
Dr Matt Brandt
Chair, Faculty Assessment Committee, AFOEM
Dr Matthew Brandt is an occupational and environmental medicine physician and Chief Medical Officer at KINNECT. He is Chair of the Faculty Assessment Committee (FAC) of AFOEM and holds statutory medical appointments with the Queensland Government. Dr Brandt completed his Fellowship training in 2007. His professional interests include clinical governance, safety‑critical work, health surveillance, and the management of biological hazards.


Dr Noa Segal
Occupational Physician, South East Industrial Health
Dr Noa Segal recently relocated to Australia and is transitioning to occupational physician practice in Melbourne. She completed medical training in Israel at the Technion Institute (BMedSci and MD, Cum Laude) and a Master of Occupational Health (Dean’s Honours) at Tel Aviv University. She gained specialist qualification in occupational and environmental medicine in 2018 and later served as Deputy Director of the Centre of Occupational Medicine at Clalit Health Services, overseeing standards and training. Dr Segal has
extensive experience in registrar education and curriculum development. Her presentation will explore the use of AI in medical examination preparation, informed by her background in medical education and training innovation.
Dr Peter Sharman
Occupational Physician, Hobart Occupational Medicine
Dr Peter Sharman is an experienced occupational physician based in Hobart, Tasmania. He is passionate about occupational and environmental medicine and is committed to training a new generation of occupational physicians with broad experience in all facets of the specialty, including clinical management and
the development of workplace systems that enhance worker health and wellbeing.


Dr Harry Chow
Occupational and Environmental Physician, AFOEM
Dr Harry Chow is a Victoria-based occupational and environmental physician. He currently serves as an in-house medical advisor to a number of private sector organisations and undertakes medicolegal assessments in private practice.
Dr Dominic Yong
Occupational Physician, Coolaroo Clinic
Dr Dominic Yong is a specialist occupational physician based in Melbourne. He provides expert care to injured workers, consults with employers, and conducts comprehensive worksite assessments. He is immediate past president of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Occupational Medicine, and a presiding member
and mentor at Medical Panels. He is also as an adjunct lecturer at Monash University, teaching through the Monash Centre for Occupational and Environmental Health. Passionate about occupational medicine, he promotes healthy work-life balance. Outside work, he enjoys tennis and cooking, practising the well-being principles he encourages in patients and colleagues daily.


Dr Nathan Pastor
Occupational Physician, AFOEM
Dr Nathan Pastor is an experienced occupational and environmental physician based in Melbourne. He has served on various occupational medicine industry committees including the AFOEM Faculty Assessment Committee and continues to be actively involved in advisory, teaching and examining roles with AFOEM and Monash University. He is looking forward to contributing to the upcoming AFOEM Annual Training Meeting.
Dr Eman Awad

Dr Awad is a consultant Occupational physician trained in the UK. She is Member of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine in the UK and a Fellow of the Australasian Faculty of Occupational and Environmental Medicine. She has worked as the chief medical officer for numerous organisations spanning various
industries. She is HAVS certified, providing expert opinion on health surveillance, fitness for duty, workplace adjustments, workplace risks and is a certified Medical review Officer.


Dr Mehdi Shah Virdi Alamdari
State Clinical Lead, Occupational Medicine Doctor, Jobfit
Dr Mehdi Shah Virdi Alamdari is a Stage C trainee and a Fellow of the RACGP. He has worked as a GP for the past 20 years and has been undertaking his AFOEM training for the past four years.
